in preparation to our upcoming Garuda fights i think a slightly new guide is in order.
since in 2.0 garuda is more basic the pattern of battle events is allways the same besides for the sisters spawning with differently colored lines.

anyways

Garuda (Level 50)

Recommended Setup:

Standard Setup
2 Tanks
4 DPS
2 Healers

Pro Setup:

For this setup the lone tank should pick up the one add which spawns near the rock while the healers just heal through the damage dealt by the second add and dodging Slipstream.

2 Healers

Abilities

Slipstream: Conal AOE focused in front of Garuda. Deals heavy AOE damage and stuns the target for 2-3 seconds. The tank is able to dodge this ability. Garuda's two main adds also have access to this ability.

Aerial Blast: Ultimate ability. Deals damage based on the health of the four stone pillars. The less health the pillars have remaining the more damage this ability will do.

Additional Mobs

Razor Plume: Spawns in phase one and two part b. In phase one these attack pillars and must be killed. In phase two they will explode for a small amount of aoe damage. They should be ignored in phase 2.

Satin Plume: Spawns in phase two part b. If left alive it will explode, sleeping the raid. It should be killed immediately after spawning.

Suparna and Chirada: Spawn during phase two part a and phase two part c. These adds spawn with a line connecting them to Garuda. One line will be green which signifies this add is supplying Garuda with a potent HOT. The other line will be red signifying this add is providing Garuda with a significant damage increase. The add which spawns with the green line should always be killed first. These two adds have access to Slipstream.

Strategy

Phase 1:

Garuda should be tanked at the rock in the back of her area with her facing the rock. The raid should be stacked up together for maximum AOE heals. Garuda will do two main things in this phase. She will teleport to one of three locations and fire an AOE attack that must be line of sighted by the stone pillars, and she will spawn Razor Plumes which will attempt to kill the stone pillars.

When Garuda teleports she always does so in the same order. Note that if your DPS is good enough she will skip the final teleport and move into her final attack before phase 2.

By the rock
In the middle
To the right, facing the rock (she will skip this if your DPS is fast enough)

After the final teleport, she will teleport to the middle, do a small AOE and spawn Razor Plumes on the outside of the room which must be killed. Once they are dead and a little more DPS is done to Garuda, phase 2 will begin.

Phase 2:

Phase 2 will always follow the following pattern:

Phase 2 Part A
Phase 2 Part B
Phase 2 Part C
Phase 2 Part B
Repeat

Phase 2 Part A:

When phase 2 begins, the tank should pull her close to the same rock she was tanked at during phase 1 but not directly ontop of it. Ranged DPS and healers should be stacked up a distance behind Garuda. After a short time three tornadoes will appear and cause massive AOE damage and knock back anyone who steps into them.

After some DPS is dealt to Garuda she will teleport away and summon her two minions Suparna and Chirada. If you chose to bring an off tank, the off tank should pick up the add that spawns across the tornadoes and the main tank should pick up the add which spawns next to Garuda. When the adds spawn they will each have a colored line which connects them to Garuda. One line will be green which signifies this add is supplying Garuda with a potent HOT. The other line will be red signifying this add is providing Garuda with a significant damage increase. The add which spawns with the green line should always be killed first. After the adds are killed and more DPS is done to Garuda part b will begin.

Phase 2 Part B:

During this phase the tornadoes will start to rotate clockwise around the room. The raid should move around the circle in front of the tornadoes. She will also spawn many Razor Plumes and one Satin Plume. The Satin Plume should be killed asap because if allowed to explode it will sleep the raid potentially causing a wipe. The Razor Plumes should be ignored and DPS should be put back on Garuda when they are dead. After some time the tornadoes will disappear creating a temporary calm. During this time the raid should rush to the center of the arena. A large AOE storm will form around the edge of the room and part c will begin.

Phase 2 Part C:

Part C goes mostly like part A with the exception of positioning. After a short time of DPS on Garuda she will once again call Suparna and Chirada to battle. Again the minion with the green line HOT to Garuda should be killed first. After the adds are dead and more DPS is done to Garuda she will move back into Part B and then back to Part A to start the cycle over again. She will repeat this pattern until she is killed. If your DPS is good Garuda should die during either the first part c or the phase b following the first part c.
